Background

The kind of career that does not fit on a single page and does not need to.

Nurple has spent his career in rooms where decisions get made — boardrooms, breakout sessions, and the kind of conference room where the whiteboard has not been erased in three months because someone wrote something important on it and nobody can remember who. He has been the person in the room. On more than one occasion, he has been the reason for the room.

His background spans multiple industries and geographies. He does not typically name them here. The people who were in those rooms know what happened.

Nurple founded Ambient Accountability after recognizing that most organizations had a surplus of strategy and a deficit of follow-through. The practice grew steadily and earned a reputation for what Nurple calls “constructive pressure.” More about the firm is available at ambientaccountability.com.

After stepping away from day-to-day operations, Nurple entered what he describes as retirement. He has since come out of retirement. He is characteristically brief about why.
